Information I collect
When you get in touch to enquire about either the copy-editing or proofreading services I offer, I collect only the bare minimum of information needed to carry out the work requested. This will usually be your name and email address, details of the project you are working on, and a sample so that I may supply you with a quote.
Emails are kept on my password-protected account, which I access via webmail. I do not use an external address book.
Any files that you send me to work on will be kept on a password-protected computer that only I have access to. This computer has anti-virus software loaded, which is updated regularly. When I have finished with your files and you are happy with the work, I will move them to a memory stick and set a password for any Word documents.
I will hold your details for seven years as required by HMRC, and unless you tell me otherwise, I will keep your files for the same length of time. If you would prefer them to be deleted before that time elapses, just let me know and I’ll be happy to comply.
I will never give or sell your data to a third party, and neither will I use your personal details for marketing purposes.
If you have any concerns regarding the above, please let me know and I will do my best to answer your query, or delete any data that you wish to have removed.
