Information I collect
When you get in touch to enquire about either the copy-editing or proofreading services I offer, I collect only the bare minimum of information needed to carry out the work requested. This will usually be your name and email address, details of the project, and a sample so that I may supply you with a quote.
Emails are kept on my password-protected account. I do not use an external address book. If you decide to hire me, I will keep copies of important correspondence regarding the brief for at least six months.
Any files that you send me to work on will be kept on a password-protected computer that only I have access to. This computer has anti-virus software loaded, which is updated on an almost daily basis. When I have finished with your files and you are happy with the work, I will move them to an external hard drive and set a password for any Word documents. I will keep copies of the finished work for at least six months.
I will never give or sell your data to a third party, and neither will I use your personal details for marketing purposes.
If you have any concerns regarding the above, please let me know and I will do my best to answer your query, or delete any data that you wish to have removed.
